Breeding right to Goliath du Berlais makes €80,000 on ARQANA Online

On Monday 20 January, ARQANA Online held its first online sale of 2025. Five stallion and shares and breeding rights, a nomination to Zarak, as well as an in-foal mare were offered to buyers. Following the sale, four out of the seven lots had changed hands, generating a turnover of €180,000.

Knocked down for €80,000 to Bertrand Le Metayer (BLM Bloodstock), a breeding right in Goliath du Berlais (lot 1) made the top price at the sale. The leading sire of three-year-old jumpers from his first crop, the Haras d’Etreham sire was the best chaser in France at four that won four Group races including the Ferdinand Dufaure (Gr.1). His stores had been subject to a lot of interest in 2023 and 2024 and were sold for up to €90,000 at two, and €160,000 at three.
Offered in foal to Torquator Tasso, North Sun (lot 5) was knocked down for €25,000 in favour of Erwan de Chambord (EDC Agency).
