ARQANA Vente d’Élevage: a very solid second day

Offering 240 mares, fillies and foals, the second day of the Vente d’Élevage registered very good results that followed on from the excellent first day. More than 81% of the lots that went under the hammer changed hands for an average of €47,249, up nearly 30% in comparison to the same session in 2023. The turnover for the day finished at €9,213,500, up 20 points, an all-time record for Sunday’s session. Further underlining the strength of the proceedings, 21 lots made €100,000 or more in comparison to seven last year.

Daughter of Dabirsim makes the top price of the day

The top price on the second day came for the Nicolas Perret trained HOSHIANA (lot 353), that had finished fourth in the Prix Hérod (L.) after the catalogue was published. Very active since the beginning of the sale, Alex Solis and Jason Litt, bidding on behalf of Repole Stable, signed the docket at €220,000 for the daughter of Dabirsim. The two-year-old is out of a half-sister to Group winner and Group placed DIFFERENT LEAGUE.

A vibrant foal section 
  
Following the conclusion of the first two days of the sale, the foal section registered very good results. Of the 101 lots that went under the hammer, 76% of them changed hands for an average of €66.597, up 18% from 2023 for the first two days. Underlining the strength of the market, 19 of those made €100,000 or more, led by a daughter of Baaeed out of Listed winner and Group placed GALOVA (lot 154) from Haras de Colleville. Sold for €260,000 to Rob Speers and Old Mill Stud via ARQANA Online, the filly hails from the family of Deutsches Derby (Gr.1) winner NICARON and the talented performers BIG MEMORY and NERIUM
