Vaughan Marshall: A Training Maestro Ready to Dominate at Kenilworth

Vaughan Marshall, one of South Africa’s most celebrated trainers, has earned his reputation as a master horseman and sharp judge of young talent over an illustrious 42-year career. Known for his exceptional skill in nurturing juveniles, Marshall has won most of the country’s prestigious races and played a key role in shaping South African racing history.

One of his greatest accomplishments was guiding Captain Al, a sire who forever changed the breeding landscape in South Africa. Under Marshall’s expert care, Captain Al claimed ten victories in a stellar 17-race career, including the Grade 1 Cape Guineas. He later excelled at stud, becoming Champion Sire in the 2014-15 season and producing numerous Grade 1 winners.
