ARQANA Arc Sale: discover more about the first 38 horses catalogued at the 2024 edition

 
Taking place during one of the biggest race meetings in the world, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend, the Arc Sale will be held following the first day of racing on Saturday 5 October at Saint-Cloud Racecourse.
 
Now available on www.arqana.com, the 2024 catalogue already contains 38 horses, and will be further added to as entries are received, with a printed version available on the day of the sale.
 
Three-Year-Olds on the up
 
A selection of top quality three-year-olds will be offered to buyers, led by Deutsches Derby (Gr.1) scorer PALLADIUM (lot 34), trained by Henk Grewe. With a current rating of 115, the son of Gleneagles out of the black-type PATH WIND hails from the family of WILD SIDE, WILD COCO and WHITE ROSE.
 
He will be joined by:
  • Prix Gérald de Geoffre (Gr.3) winner COLUMBUS is consigned as lot 17. Trained by Christophe Ferland, he also took the Prix Michel Houyvet (L.) at Deauville this summer. With a rating of 104, the son of Oasis Dream hails from the family of Group 1 winners CORONET and AUSSIE RULES.
  • Recent Prix Occitanie (L.) scorer WALDORA will be offered from Satoshi Kobayashi as lot 25. With a current rating of rating 102, she is from the family of Group 1 winners MARKETSEGMENTATION, FASLIYEV, MISTY FOR ME, U S NAVY FLAG, ROLY POLY etc.
  • Prix Frederic de Lagrange (L.) winner SHAMARKAND is lot 31. A three-time winner this season, the Aga Khan Studs homebred trained by Francis-Henri Graffard most recently finished third in the Prix Gerald De Geoffre (Gr.3). Out of the Group winner SHAMKALA with a current rating of 102, he is related to Group 1 winners SHAMDALA and SHAMDINAN.
  • Sparkasse Kolnbonn – 189th Union-Rennen (Gr.2) winner NARRATIVO, trained by Peter Schiergen, will go under the hammer as lot 46. Runner-up in the Grosser Preis von Berlin (Gr.1) in August, he most recently finished third in the Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr.1). With a rating of 113, the son of Adlerflug is a half-brother to Group winner NIKKEI and hails from the family of the talented performers NEATICO, BEAUTYANDTHEBEAST, VOLTA, CALVADOS BLUES etc.
  • Prix de l’Avre (L.) scorer TRAFALGAR SQUARE is lot 54. Owned by Écurie Hugo & Pierre Pilarski and Gousserie Racing, he most recently took the ARQANA Series des 3 ans at Deauville. With a rating of 106, the son of Kendargent is a half-brother to the black-type winner and Classic placed TIMES SQUARE.
