Chesspiece looks to atone for a rare below-par effort when he returns to York, UK, for the G3 Silver Cup on Saturday, 13 July.

Trained by Simon & Ed Crisford, the son of Nathaniel comfortably won a handicap at the course last May before going on to score in a Hamilton Listed race and place in both the G2 Queen’s Vase and G3 Gordon Stakes.

Chesspiece kicked off his four-year-old campaign with a fifth in a Newbury G3 but ran no race in the G3 Henry II Stakes at Sandown Park in May, when he was tailed off in last.
