10/03/2022. Mondo Ippico Internazionale, Pukekohe Park (NZ): Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day 2022

Good news, if you’ve not had enough of a horsey fix this week with Vodafone Derby Day and NZB’s sales at Karaka… the one and only Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day is happening this Sunday as the perfect round-off to Auckland Cup Week® 2022.

While restrictions on events held under the current ‘Red’ setting may mean the day doesn’t have the same off-track entertainment as you might be accustomed to; the good news is that the racing is still happening.

Tickets* are still available for you to join us oncourse, however, even if you can’t attend, there should be something in today’s round-up of stories, photos and competitions for you.

To celebrate Auckland Cup Week®, we’ve teamed up with LOVERACING.NZ to give you a chance at winning an epic prize.

Life after the Cup

Ahead of Sunday’s Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup, LOVERACING.NZ caught up with former winner Pentane who absolutely flew home in thrilling fashion for Michael Walker back in 2006.

Click the video above to hear all about his well-deserved retirement and how he came to be, which all started from a mare found in a back paddock in Turangi.

All dressed up and ready to WIN

Entries into the Adashiko Fashion Qualifiers - our all-new online fashions in the field competition – are now OPEN and will see not one, not two or three but FOUR women announced as winners.

LOVERACING.NZ sat down with Peter to learn a little more about his life in racing.

“In the last week both Cartier and Harper’s Bazaar have reached out…”

We chatted to New Zealand’s most well-known millinery export, Australia-based Jill Humphries, for her take on all things fashion ahead of both the Adashiko Fashion Qualifiers and The Ned Prix de Fashion.
