Exclusive chat with Gordon Elliott ahead of the Dublin Racing Festival
On this week’s What A Shout, Dave Orton is joined by top Irish trainer Gordon Elliott, Racing Post handicapper Matt Gardner, the must-see Irish duo Gavin Lynch & David Jennings and bet365’s Pat Cooney. Elliott gives us the lowdown on his runners at the Dublin Racing Festival this weekend at Leopardstown and gives us one to be on. The panel also preview the key races at Leopardstown over both days as well as giving us their all important weekend naps.
Speaking on Racing Post’s What A Shout about what his best bet for the weekend would be, Elliott said: “I’m looking forward to all the Grade 1s and it would obviously be very special if Zanahiyr could beat Honeysuckle.”
Elliott noted that if he had a tenner free bet he would have it on his exciting five-year-old in the Goffs Future Stars bumper (4.25 Leopardstown).
“He’s a very good horse. I’m not saying he’s the best horse in the yard or anything, but he’s a very nice horse. He’s by Walk In The Park and is a weak horse who will improve next year. He worked at Navan last week and he was very, very good.”
