Finding room exiting the second turn, Robert and Lawana Low’s Colonel Liam rallied powerfully under Irad Ortiz Jr. to edge stablemate Largent in a photo finish in the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes (G1T) at Gulfstream Park Jan. 23.

The Todd Pletcher trainee, favored at 5-2, raced 1 3/16 miles on a firm turf course in 1:53.09. The 4-year-old gray son of Liam’s Map  paid $7.00.

Cross Border was third, Social Paranoia was fourth, and Pixelate was fifth.
