International Group 1 Success:
Simply unmissable for buyers seeking world class foals to resell or race, the quality of Goffs November Foals can be best illustrated by the success of its graduates on the racetrack, which this year were led by Ghaiyyath, the world’s highest rated racehorse and winner of the Group 1 Juddmonte International, Coronation Cup and Eclipse Stakes; Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Lucky Vega, Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Alcohol Free, US Grade 1 winner River Boyne, as well as Group winners Dark Vision, Lemista, Ubettabelieveit, Miss Amulet, Aloha Star and Dandalla.
A leading source of pinhooking success, Goffs November Foal Sale was the most profitable European foal sale at the 2019 yearling sales, while the 2020 yearling sales season also saw numerous pinhooking touches for Goffs foals which included a €260,000 foal that developed into a €400,000 yearling, €44,000 that evolved into £115,000, a €22,000 foal that sold for £135,000, as well as a €200,000 Goffs resold for 350,000 guineas, a €150,000 foal that became 320,000 guineas, and a €72,000 foal that sold for 260,000 guineas as a yearling. |

World Class Pedigrees:
Leading sires represented this year include Kingman, Frankel, Sea The Stars, Kodiac, Dark Angel, Invincible Spirit, Lope De Vega, Zoffany and Night Of Thunder, while foals by the leading first crop sires of 2020 include Mehmas and New Bay. The catalogue also features the first foals by exciting sires such as Saxon Warrior, Roaring Lion, Zoustar, US Navy Flag, Harry Angel, Havana Grey and Expert Eye.
Black type siblings feature prominently throughout the catalogue, and among the standouts are the Kingman half-brother to Ghaiyyath, who was Europe’s highest priced colt foal when he topped the November Foal Sale in 2015 as did his own-brother last year when he became the world’s highest priced foal of 2019; as well as the own-brother to the Group 1 Irish Oaks and Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner and Champion European three year old Sea Of Class, and a Footstepsinthesand brother to one of this season’s star juveniles in Lucky Vega, winner of the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes and a close second in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. An own-sister to both Nay Lady Nay, a recent Grade 2 winner in the US for Chad Brown, and last year’s Coventry Stakes winner Arizona is also catalogued.
Other highlights include a Frankel sister to the dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Terebellum out of Group 3 winner Marvada as well as a Frankel colt out of Noyelles, dam of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Lily’s Angel. Also offered is a colt by Make Believe out of multiple Group 2 winning mare Unchartered Haven and is a brother to both Group 1 performer High Heeled and to the dam of Irish 1000 Guineas and Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes winner Just The Judge.
As we count down to the November Foal Sale, Goffs will publish a series of previews of each day’s foals over the coming days. |
