SOLESILI (GB) (c, 3, Dansili {GB}–Solemia {Ire} {Hwt. Older Mare-Fr at 14+f & G1SW-Fr, $3,317,678}, by Poliglote {GB}) employed patient tactics in fifth for most of this first go. Nudged along at the top of the straight, the 24-5 chance came under further pressure with a quarter mile remaining and was pushed out once launching his challenge entering the final eighth to assert by a comfortable 2 1/2 lengths from My Buddy (Fr) (Orpen). The homebred bay is the first representative for G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe-winning French highweight Solemia (Ire) (Poliglote {GB}) and he is kin to the 2-year-old filly Arcamia (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) and the yearling filly Seamia (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Solemia is herself half to six black-type performers, headed by MGSW G1 Prix du Jockey Club runner-up Prospect Park (GB) (Sadler’s Wells), from a family which features MG1SW highweights The Gurkha (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Silasol (Ire) (Monsun {Ger}).
