fonte : SGAGoffs: Another Group 1 Success for Orby Graduate Ribchester |
Goffs Orby graduate, RIBCHESTER now has a total of four Group 1 wins after a strong run in the Qatar Prix du Moulin de Longchampat Chantilly over the weekend. Going off even favourite he chased the leaders and was driven on well in the final furlongs to hold off rivals Group 2 winners Taareef and Massaat by 4 1/4 lengths overall. Ribchester was sold as a foal by Kilmore Stud to Jamie Railton for €78,000, and then went back under the hammer as a yearling in the Orby Sale, where he was sold by the Irish National Stud to Highfield Farm for €105,000. Ribchester was purchased privately by Godolphin in 2015 after his second in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes and his successful career of Group 1 wins includes the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot, the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, and the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard – Jacques Le Marois at Deauville. Ribchester is still the highest rated horse in the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings to have gone through public auction in Europe.
Ribchester, the cover star of the Orby catalogue, provided another great result for this year’s sale which takes place two weeks from tomorrow, 26 – 27 September. |
