Super Saturday: all the latest going, betting news and non-runners
Here it is, then. The day you have probably been looking forward to all week, while slightly dreading at the same time.
The Darley July Cup and Irish Oaks have gatecrashed a once quiet Saturday, creating what we have now got used to calling Super Saturday.
The support cards led this day in the calendar once upon a time and have not lost any of their lustre: at York we will see the ultra-competitive John Smith’s Cup as well as two Listed races, while the Group 2 Summer Mile takes place at Ascot.
Over at the Curragh we have the full set of Group races with the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes and Group 3 Anglesey Stakes, plus the famous Scurry handicap.

Impressive French G2 victory by Talismanic
Talismanic relished racing over a mile and six furlongs for the first time when the impressive winner of the G2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil at Saint-Cloud, France, on the evening of Friday, July 14.
The four-year-old Medaglia d’Oro colt, trained by Andre Fabre and partnered by Mickael Barzalona, has been very consistent over a mile and a half, winning three times in Listed contests, but the new trip appeared to take him to a different level.
Held up in sixth of the 10 runners on the inside as Full Drago took them along, Talismanic improved to fifth and moved out wider before turning for home.
He was asked to improve in the straight and ran on strongly to hit the front with less than a furlong and a half remaining.
Talismanic soon went clear and was eased in the closing stages to triumph by a length and a quarter from Marmelo in 2m 58.40s on good turf.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “It was an excellent performance by Talismanic, who has beaten a good field.
“Mickael rode the perfect race, keeping him covered up and then coming with a great run to win decisively.
“This victory over a longer trip opens up a lot more options for Talismanic as all the staying races move into contention now.
“We will see how he comes out of this race and then make some plans.”
Godolphin one-two as Hawkbill wins Princess Of Wales’s Stakes
Hawkbill made all of the running to deny Frontiersman as Godolphin and trainer Charlie Appleby had the first two in the G2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes over a mile and a half at Newmarket, UK, on Thursday, July 13.
Last season’s G1 Eclipse Stakes winner broke well and went straight to the front under James Doyle, with the William Buick-ridden Frontiersman settling in fourth of the six runners.
Frontiersman took closer order approaching the final quarter mile and quickened well to join his stable companion by the furlong-marker before drifting left towards the far rail.
Hawkbill galloped out strongly to score by three quarters of a length in 2m 31.00s on good ground, with Frontiersman rallying as the front two came home almost four lengths clear of Algometer in third.
Charlie Appleby commented: “I am delighted with Hawkbill. We knew that he would set a decent gallop and I said to James that he would be dangerous if he was given an uncontested lead and left alone to do what he wanted.
“We were also pleased with Frontiersman. He was still wandering around a bit but hopefully the penny will drop with more experience.
“I feel that Frontiersman has proven that he is a good horse, having put up two solid performances at Group level, and it was no disgrace to finish second to Hawkbill here.
“He was unraced as a two-year-old, lightly raced as a three-year-old and is still a bit inexperienced and learning on the game.
“We will look towards the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1, 1m 4f, July 29) at Ascot with Frontiersman. We will get him around a turn there with a rail to run along and hopefully he will come on again.
“We know that Hawkbill excels in extreme conditions and we have to give him a break at some point. I keep trying but he keeps knocking the box down a few days after each race!
”Hawkbill is an Eclipse winner and no mug. He is now a multiple Group winner.”
James Doyle added: “It was a great training performance by Charlie Appleby. Hawkbill is a horse that you have to serve it up to a bit because he takes life so well and gets so fresh.
“He ran well in the Coronation Stakes, then went out to France, and has turned up on his A-game here. On his best form, this race was well within his compass.
“He enjoyed himself out in front. I went out with a game plan to I let him roll along at whatever speed he is was comfortable at, fill him up and give him plenty of time to really hit stride.
“He is very tough and, when Frontiersman joined me, he felt him coming and dropped down a gear.
“I think a mile and a half with ease in the ground is his optimum conditions. He has got away with the ground today and the rain we had has definitely helped him.”

Dalakhani’s Shakeel Lunges Late For Grand Prix Glory
6th at SCD, Gr. Stk, €600,000 | G1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris | (12f) | Winner: Shakeel (Fr), c, 3 by Dalakhani (Ire) |

By Tom Frary
With a legion of His Highness The Aga Khan’s projects at his disposal on an annual basis, Alain de Royer-Dupre is always capable of pulling something out of the bag and Shakeel stepped up at the right time on a glorious evening on Bastille Day to register a sixth renewal of this prize for his owner-breeder and a fifth for his trainer. Third on debut here over 10 furlongs in November, the bay was next seen returning over that same track and trip to be third behind TDN Rising Star Plumatic (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Malkoboy (Fr) (Rajsaman {Fr}) over 10 1/2 furlongs Mar. 23. Showing steady progression next time to beat Malkoboy over a mile and a quarter at Chantilly Apr. 20, he was third behind Called To the Bar (Ire) (Henrythenavigator) and Ice Breeze (GB) (Nayef) in the G3 Prix du Lys over this course and distance May 23 but got closer to the latter when a head second in the G2 Prix Hocquart over this trip at Chantilly last time June 18.
Fifth throughout the early stages of this wide-open and competitive edition, the homebred was threaded up the rail in early straight by Christophe Soumillon as the race’s animator Permian kicked on under William Buick. Getting to that rival approaching the final furlong, he was able to win their protracted duel with a final thrust of his head as Venice Beach fared best of the Ballydoyle trio. “I knew this horse was good enough to run in this, but I was not sure whether he could win,” de Royer-Dupre said. “It shows he is still improving and although this was a regular pace, he’d be better with it being faster. He stays very well and I think he’ll stay further, but we have no plans really. He is in the [G1] Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe [at Chantilly Oct. 1] and that is a possibility, but we’ll see what to do later.” Permian’s trainer Mark Johnston said, “He’s run a very good race and I have no complaints. He is a possibility for the [GI] Secretariat S. [at Arlington Aug. 12].”
Shakeel is the first foal out of the unraced Shamiyra, who is herself a half to the G3 Prix Allez France winner Shemiyla (Fr), also by Dalakhani. The third dam is the G1 Prix de Diane heroine Shemaka, who went on to produce another Allez France scorer and G3 Prix de Lutece winner Shemima (GB) also from a mating with Dalakhani and the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre scorer Shemaya (Ire) from a mating with Dalakhani’s sire Darshaan (GB). Shemaka’s descendants include the G1 Prix du Jockey Club runner-up Shamkiyr (Fr) (Sea the Stars {Ire}), the G1 El Derby hero Full of Luck (Chi) (Lookin At Lucky) and the G2 Prix Eugene Adam winner Shimraan (Fr) (Rainbow Quest), with this also being the family of the G1 English and Irish Derby hero Shahrastani. Shamiyra also has an as-yet unraced 2-year-old colt by Kendargent (Fr) named Shamdor (GB) and a yearling colt by Oasis Dream (GB).

BEING THERE (FR) (c, 2, Dubawi {Ire}–Beauty Parlour {GB} {G1SW-Fr, $713,308}, by Deep Impact {Jpn}), the €1.4 million GOFORB sale-topping son of the 2012 G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches heroine and G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Beauty Parlour who proved the star turn of the Wildenstein family’s yearling dispersal there in September, had been second on debut to Saturday’s G2 Superlative S. protagonist Bullington Bandit (Ire) (Canford Cliffs {Ire}) in a 6 1/2-furlong novice contest at Newbury June 15. Placed in a close-up second early, the 11-10 favourite gained a slight lead passing the quarter pole and stuck to his guns gamely to hold the race’s eye-catcher, Joseph Allen’s newcomer Doswell (Giant’s Causeway), by a head. Ironically, it was Allen who was the underbidder on the winner at Keeneland. Winning trainer Charlie Appleby said, “He was very green at home and showed that on his first run. I have to thank the guys at Chelmsford, as I took him there for a bit more experience and he travelled very well and picked up well there 10 days ago and I was confident he’d be a lot more professional today.” Of future targets, he added, “He’s a nice horse who will progress. I don’t think he is the type for the [G2] Vintage Stakes. We will see how he comes out of it.” Beauty Parlour, who is set to be offered by The Castlebridge Consignment at the Goffs November Sale in foal to Kingman (GB), was one of the Wildensteins’s best performers of recent years and this is her first foal. Her next was a daughter of Dansili (GB) who was snapped up for €450,000 at last year’s November Sale by White Birch Farm which includes Joseph Allen. Beauty Parlour’s full-brother Barocci (Jpn) captured the Listed Prix Omnium II and was placed in the G3 Prix du Prince d’Orange, GII City of Hope Mile S. and GII American H. This is also the family of the dual Australian Horse of the Year Might and Power (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}), winner of the GI Melbourne Cup, G1 Cox Plate and G1 Caulfield Cup among others, and also Hong Kong’s champion miler and sire Lucky Owners (NZ). War Front’s Roly Poly Dominates the Falmouth
4th at NMT, Gr. Stk, 200000 | G1 Tattersalls Falmouth S. | (8f) | Winner: Roly Poly, f, 3 by War Front |
Roly Poly | Racing Post
By Sean Cronin
TDN Rising Star Roly Poly (War Front) had played the bridesmaid’s role to stablemates in last term’s G1 Cheveley Park S. and this year’s G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Coronation S., and at last gained a deserved top-level triumph with a dominant frontrunning performance in Friday’s G1 Tattersalls Falmouth S. at Newmarket. Quickest away to seize an immediate lead racing along the stands’ side fence in the now-familiar cheekpieces, the crowd’s 6-4 favourite was nudged along when strongly pressed approaching the final quarter mile and, with Ryan Moore’s whip not being required until halfway up the climb, kept on relentlessly to claim a career high in decisive fashion. She had 1 1/4 lengths to spare over Wuheida (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) at the line with Arabian Hope (Distorted Humor) a further half-length adrift in third. “Her last two runs were very good runs behind Winter and it went very well today,” commented winning rider Ryan Moore. “She improved right through the spring and deserved to win a Group 1. She was just touched off in the Cheveley Park last year and is just a very tough and very honest filly.”
Roly Poly made the grade in The Curragh’s G3 Grangecon Stud (Balanchine) S. and G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. on this card last year, and was runner-up in York’s G2 Lowther S. and the G1 Cheveley Park S. at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile track. Subsequently off the board in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, G3 Nell Gwyn S. and G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, she regained her foothold with seconds behind stablemate Winter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the May 28 G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and the June 23 G1 Coronation S. last time, and stepped forward to join the top rank here. “It means a lot and, if it didn’t, I guess I wouldn’t be here,” said part-owner Michael Tabor. “I love to see the horses win, it’s as simple as that, and long may it continue. Roly Poly is pretty small, she loves this ground and she’s trained on to be a very good 3-year-old.”
Appleby was understandably thrilled with runner-up Wuheida, who was making her first start since annexing last October’s G1 Prix Marcel Boussac, and said, “She travelled well throughout and just got tired, which is what I expected to be honest, but I’m delighted. Her class has taken her to where she is today and I’d be pretty confident she’s going to take a good leap forward. As regards trip, William [Buick] felt she may even have got a bit quicker since last year. I was thinking after this we might be looking to go up to 10 furlongs, but we might stick to around a mile. We’ll let the dust settle, see how she is tomorrow morning and make a plan from there.”
Roly Poly is one of three stakes performers, from just three foals to race, out of multiple highweight Misty For Me (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who registered tallies in the G1 Moyglare Stud S., G1 Prix Marcel Boussac, G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Pretty Polly S., and she is a half-sister GIII Autumn Miss S. victress Cover Song (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). From Roly Poly’s covering to date, it has been the War Front show and her other siblings are U S Navy Flag, who ran second in Thursday’s G2 July S., a yearling filly and a colt foal. Misty For Me, herself a full-sister to G1 Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Ballydoyle (Ire) and MGSP Listed Hurry Harriet S. victress Twirl (Ire), visited War Front once again this year. She is from a family which includes MG1SW European champion Fasliyev (Nureyev), and fellow MG1SW sires Menifee (Harlan) and Desert Wine (Damascus).

Galileo’s Clemmie Takes the Duchess of Cambridge

Clemmie | Racing Post
By Sean Cronin
Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who backed up a May 27 debut third at The Curragh by finishing seventh in a hot renewal of Royal Ascot’s June 23 G3 Albany S., lined up for Friday’s G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. at Newmarket off a breakthrough score in the July 2 G3 Grangecon Stud (Balanchine) S. back at The Curragh and justified 11-8 favouritism with a degree of panache to register a career high–in track record time– in her fourth straight try at this six-furlong trip. Positioned under a modicum of cover tracking the leaders in sixth after breaking alertly, she was stoked up at the quarter-mile marker and ran on strongly in the closing stages once powering to the fore at the foot of the hill to comfortably account for 7-4 market rival Nyaleti (Ire) (Arch) by 1 3/4 lengths, with 20-1 chance Mamba Noire (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) a half-length further back in third. “She is typical of Aidan [O’Brien]’s 2-year-olds and has progressed with every run,” explained winning rider Ryan Moore. “She has just got better and better. She was good in the Group 3 last time and was better today. She did that very easy with plenty to spare and I’d say she’s the best [juvenile] filly we’ve seen out this year. She has the pedigree to do it [in next year’s G1 1000 Guineas], she’s with the right trainer and, if she can win a six-furlong Group 2 in July, she’s got every chance.”
Clemmie is out of G2 Queen Mary S. runner-up Meow (Ire) (Storm Cat) and is a full-sister to a yearling colt and to stablemate and four-time Group 1-winning European highweight 2-year-old colt Churchill (Ire). Her second dam is dual British highweight sprinter Airwave (GB) (Air Express {Ire}), whose career highs featured victories in the G1 Cheveley Park S. and G2 Temple S., and who produced G3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies’ S. victress Aloof (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). Airwave’s ill-fated half-sister is G1 Nunthorpe S. heroine Jwala (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}).

Minding Retired from Racing
Minding | Racing Post photo
Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor’s seven-times Group 1 winner and multiple champion Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}–Lillie Langtry {Ire}, by Danehill Dancer {Ire}) has been retired from racing according to multiple reports. No plans on her future as a broodmare were immediately revealed.
Bred by Orpendale, Chelston and Wynatt, Minding won three of her five appearances at two in 2015, leading home a Galileo top-three sweep in the G1 Moyglare Stud S. at The Curragh in defeating stable companions Ballydoyle (Ire) and Alice Springs (Ire) (video) before completing a championship season with a 4 1/2-length romp in the G1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket (video).
The blaze-faced bay had Ballydoyle and Alice Springs behind yet again when proving easily best in the G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas on her 2016 debut (video), then was just turned over by Jet Setting (Ire) (Fast Company {Ire}) in the Irish equivalent three weeks later. So impressive in overcoming a checkered passage to land the G1 Investec Oaks (video), she bested her peers in the G1 Pretty Polly S. and in the G1 Nassau S. (video) ahead of a third to Almanzor (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) and stablemate Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Irish Champion S. Minding returned to form with a half-length tally from Ribchester (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}) in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II S. last October (video) and made one appearance this term, a smooth success in the G2 Mooresbridge S. at Naas May 1.
Minding, whose 2-year-old full-sister Conquest (Ire) was set to debut in the 5.50 from Leopardstown Thursday, heads to the breeding shed with a record of 13-9-3-1 and earnings of £2,344,930.
Another Big Prize for Kitten’s Joy’s Hawkbill In the Princess of Wales’s

Hawkbill (left) leads home a Godolphin 1-2 at Newmarket | Racing Post photo
By Tom Frary
After a latest below-par effort in France, Hawkbill was overlooked by the punters in favour of the fellow Charlie Appleby-trained Frontiersman but it takes special mettle to win an Eclipse and the likeable chestnut proved too good for his stablemate on a card the Maktoum family dominated. The duo had finished second and third in the G1 Coronation Cup at Epsom June 2, where Frontiersman was ahead chasing home Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and after Hawkbill had run sixth in the July 2 G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud it was obvious where the money would go this time. Add to that the fact that Appleby categorically stated his preference for Frontiersman beforehand and William Buick deserted him for the first time in 14 starts and the enthusiastic chestnut was firmly the underdog here.
Sent straight to the front by James Doyle, he visibly thrived out in a clear lead as Muntahaa (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) eventually crossed over from his isolation away from the rail. As the business end neared, he had only his barnmate to worry about but when the two in royal blue came together Hawkbill put his head down and fought while Frontiersman dived away from Buick’s whip. Surrendering vital ground passing the furlong pole, the market-leader was brought back to the battle but was always coming off second-best as they stayed clear of Algometer.
After upsetting The Gurkha (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the Eclipse last July, Appleby had talked about giving Hawkbill a break to help his maturing process and he was out three times afterwards without success before re-emerging with a fifth in the G1 Prix Ganay over 10 1/2 furlongs at Saint-Cloud May 1. Back up to the 12-furlong trip over which he had been third in the G1 Grosser Preis Von Bayern at Munich in November when making all in the G3 Aston Park S. at Newbury May 20, he was unable to get to the front in the Coronation Cup and paid for a tussle with Highland Reel by losing second to Frontiersman. Another below-par effort in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud had led his trainer to revisit plans for a sojourn, but he had clearly advertised his wellbeing in the interim and was pitched back into action. “You
can’t not love him–he’s been a great campaigner for me,” his trainer said. “I’m always trying to give him a break, but after two easy days he’s climbing over the top of his stable door again. He’s dangerous when he’s left alone on the lead and is a horse that sweats up, so we’d be worried if he didn’t. He’s run his race on the plane on the way over to France twice, but we know him now and I feel he has one more big pot in him. With ease in the ground or even in extremes, he excels. Frontiersman was still running around a bit there and I feel he’s a good horse. This was no disgrace and he’s learning on the game. We’ll look towards Ascot and the [July 29 G1] King George [VI and Queen Elizabeth S.] for him. He won’t look out of place there.”
Hawkbill’s dam is the GIII Robert G. Dick Memorial H. runner-up Trensa, who is herself a daughter of the GI Ballerina S. winner Serape and therefore a half to the GIII Vinery Matchmaker S., GIII My Charmer H. and GIII Honey Fox H. scorer Batique (Storm Cat). The latter is responsible for the GIII Bewitch S., GIII All Along S. and GIII The Very One H. runner-up Tejida (Rahy), while the third dam Mochila was placed in the GI Ruffian H., GI Beldame S. and GI Ladies H. and is a half-sister to the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile-winning champion and leading sire Cozzene. Also from the extended family of the GI Ogden Phipps H. heroine Tiz Miz Sue (Tiznow), Trensa has an as-yet unraced 3-year-old filly by Hard Spun named Hard Cloth, a 2-year-old colt by Union Rags named Free Drop Billy, a yearling colt by Curlin and a colt foal by More Than Ready.

Early indications are that there is little between the form of Royal Ascot’s G2 Norfolk S. and G2 Coventry S. and it was one who emerged from the former contest who had the bragging rights here in Cardsharp. Third and two lengths behind Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) in that five-furlong test of raw speed, the bay proved adaptable with this strong-staying effort over one of the stiffest examinations of stamina in the country. Leading two others up the centre of track early as U S Navy Flag was in front of the main bunch stand’s side, he gradually crossed over after gaining a narrow lead with two furlongs remaining and stuck on gamely to assert from that Ballydoyle raider. The Coventry winner Rajasinghe was racing under a penalty and looked for a while as if he would be disappointing, but stayed on late to make the frame and suggest that extra distance will suit.
Cardsharp had debuted over an extended five when making all at Brighton May 3 before running fourth in an Ascot novice race 10 days later and runner-up to De Bruyne Horse (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) in Epsom’s six-furlong Woodcote S. which is now downgraded from listed status June 2. Back eight days later to earn his Royal Ascot tilt by making all in Beverley’s Brian Yeardley Continental Two-Year-Old Trophy Conditions S. also at five, the homebred had only 12 days’s breathing space to the Norfolk and duly entered this race with almost veteran status among the juveniles. “We’ve been umming and ahhing over his trip and had chopped and changed, but he showed so much speed at Beverley and tired at the end so we switched from the Coventry to the Norfolk and clearly we were wrong,” trainer Mark Johnston said. “He was better for six furlongs today and is a tall rangy horse–when I was putting the jockey up today I did look at him and wonder what I had been doing running him over five. I wouldn’t rule out seeing him over further later in the season.” Jockey James Doyle added, “He hit the line very well and felt a different horse today. In the Norfolk, he was up there under sufferance only and he travelled much smoother here. Six is definitely his right trip, as he has a strong cruising speed and can quicken well off that.”
Kevin Buckley, Coolmore’s UK representative, said of U S Navy Flag, “He is laid-back and he travelled over really well. We were very happy with that run. Ryan Moore planned to jump out and make plenty of use with him. He lost an off-fore shoe and we are not making excuses, that is just a fact of what happened. He only won his maiden 12 days ago, so you can see he is a durable animal. Hopefully his full-sister Roly Poly can keep the good run up for the family tomorrow.” Of Rajasinghe, trainer Richard Spencer commented, “We were disappointed that he didn’t win, but he put up a brave effort to finish third. He is going to get further, as I’ve said all along, and the ultimate aim is a mile in next year’s Guineas. We will probably step him up next time. Whether we go to Goodwood for a potential go at the [Aug. 1 G2] Vintage Stakes, we will see how he is, but the owner bought him to enjoy, not stand in his box.”
Cardsharp is one of four winners from as many foals to race out of a daughter of the G3 Princess Margaret S. winner Saintly Speech. She is herself the second dam of the G3 Park Express S. and G3 C L Weld Park S. scorer Chrysanthemum (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}), whose Cunco (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) captured this year’s G3 Sandown Classic Trial. The third dam is the Garden City Budweiser Breeders’s Cup S. winner Eloquent Minister (Deputy Minister), responsible for the Naruo Kinen-winning sire Maruka Diesis and the G3 Prix du Calvados scorer Woodland Melody (Woodman). Next up from the useful Pure Illusion is a yearling colt by New Approach (Ire).

Sea the Stars’s Raheen House Takes the Bahrain Trophy

Fourth in the G1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October, Raheen House split the star Juddmonte fillies Shutter Speed (GB) (Dansili {GB}) and Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) in a 10-furlong conditions race on his return at Newbury Apr. 21 before finishing third in the Listed Cocked Hat S. over an extended 11 furlongs at Goodwood May 26. Fourth behind Permian (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) in Royal Ascot’s G2 King Edward VII S. over a mile and a half June 23, the bay relished this extra trip to point the way to the Sept. 16 G1 St Leger. Settled towards the rear early by Jamie Spencer, he gradually reeled in the long-time leader Sofia’s Rock and after reaching him with a furlong remaining held off Desert Skyline on the uphill climb. “The owner is not here today, but I will suggest we leave him alone until the St Leger, as another run isn’t necessary,” trainer Brian Meehan commented. “That’s the way he wants to be ridden and it was a top-notch ride from Jamie today. He said he looked around him a bit when he got to the front and could have won a bit easier. I think he’s a proper horse.”
The winner’s year-older full-brother Shraaoh (Ire) is the only other runner for the dam and is a potential group horse himself as a Sir Michael Stoute project who was well-backed when third in Saturday’s Old Newton Cup H. at Haydock. The second dam is a half-sister to the G1 1000 Guineas heroine Ghanaati (Giant’s Causeway) and the G3 Cumberland Lodge S.-winning sire Mawatheeq and is also responsible for the G2 Queen Mary S. winner and G1 1000 Guineas and G1 Cheveley Park S. third Maqaasid (GB) (Green Desert) and the unraced dam of the G1 San Isidro winner Il Fornaio (Arg) (Orpen). The third dam, the Listed Oh So Sharp S. winner Sarayir, is a product of the famed Height of Fashion (Fr) and is therefore a half-sister to Nashwan, Unfuwain and Nayef who also threw the G1 Epsom Oaks third Rumoush (Rahy), herself the dam of the G2 Royal Lodge S. third Muntazah (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}). Jumooh’s 2015 colt is also by Sea the Stars (Ire) and is named Astrologist (Ire), while she also has a yearling full-sister to the winner and a filly foal by Born To Sea (Ire).

VENERDÌ 14 LUGLIO 2017. Francia: #Shakeel beffa #Permian nel Grand Prix de Paris, solo 8° Mac Mahon. Full Drago 5° in G2. Resa italiana..
