Minding has frightened off all but four rivals in the Nassau Stakes

Minding the star name on last day at Goodwood
MINDING will face only our rivals as she bids to continue her remarkable campaign in Saturday’s Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.
The brilliant dual Classic winner, who was last seen winning the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh a month ago, will be bidding for a sixth Group 1 victory on only her tenth start.

Among those successes are wins at four different distances, ranging from 7f to 1m4f and trainer Aidan O’Brien admits he is remains uncertain as to her optimum trip.
“We know she has the pace for the top league at a mile and we know she gets a mile and a half,” he said.
“She’s also comfortable in between at a mile and quarter, which is lovely. It’s very unusual to be so adaptable. She’s progressing with every run and is a very strong traveller.”
Reflecting on her remarkable career to date, O’Brien added: “She’s great, isn’t she? I’m not sure if we’ve had a more resilient filly and we’ve been delighted with her this season.
“We are very happy with her going into Saturday but not looked beyond it. It’s one race at a time, let’s see how she comes out of the race.”
Retrieval mission for Swiss Range
Swiss Range created a big impression when winning the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket in May but things went wrong for her in the Prix de Diane last time.
The John Gosden-trained filly is set to have her first start since that June outing on Saturday and will be joined by Queen’s Trust, who is seeking a record-breaking eighth win in the race for Sir Michael Stoute.
“Minding is a machine, but hopefully we will get some black type,” said Stoute, who first landed this prize in 1977. “She hasn’t had luck in running on both of her starts this year but is a nice, progressive filly.”
Godolphin’s Beautiful Romance and French raider Jemayel complete the line-up.
Dancing Star gains Stewards’ Cup berth
The Andrew Balding-trained Dancing Star snuck in at the bottom of the draw for Saturday’s Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood and was drawn in stall four on Thursday.
She and Orion’s Bow are vying for favouritism, with the pair both general 6-1 chances after Orion’s Bow was handed stall 14.
