Deep into the second day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s 2-year-olds in training sale March 16, a Smart Strike colt moved to the top of the price list.

On a bid of $1.7 million, David Ingordo signed the ticket for a Lane’sEnd Bloodstock partnership for the bay colt (Hip 591) who was consigned by Eddie Woods. Bred in Illinois by Brinker Hill Farm, the colt is out of grade II-placed Glamorista, by Unbridled’s Song.

The colt had breezed a furlong in :9 2/5 during the under tack show.
