IT WAS that man Frankie Dettori again, as he kept pushing Cable Bay right to the line to secure another Group success in what has been a magnificent season.

Dettori had a willing partner as the Charlie Hills-trained four-year-old had to hang tough in front to see off a swarm of late challengers having hit the front with a furlong left to run.
This was a quick return to action for Cable Bay, who had run at Ascot last weekend finishing fourth in a Group 3, and he bows out on a high as connections revealed he will now stand at Highclere Stud next season.
Hills said: “He’s had a really long season but has a great temperament and constitution.”
Good Newmarket record
Cable Bay had not won at Newmarket before, but had finished second three times from four starts at the track, and he had to fight hard for a first win, defeating Breton Rock by a neck.
Breton Rock challenged late, along with Belardo, who had been last in the first half of the race but finished well to take third. Favourite Markaz was also prominent, but faded to fifth in the closing stages.
Dettori added: “He loves Newmarket and had run some great races here. He got the job done.”
