Royal Ascot 2015: Che lo spettacolo abbia inizio! Cinque giorni da vivere intensamente, ecco il programma dal 16 al 20 giugno

 
 
 
Righ here, right now! Via il cappello, mercoledì pomeriggio comincia “IL” meeting inglese per eccellenza, l’edizione 2015 del Royal Ascot, meglio conosciuto come “The greatest race meeting in the world”! Tutti pronti dunque per assistere ad uno spettacolo senza eguali che dura dal 1711, quando cioè la Regina Anna (Queen Anne) optò per un meeting molto inglese, tipico nello stile british. 
Partiamo dal programma, che si svilupperà su 18 corse Pattern, a partire da da martedì 16 Giugno fino a sabato 20 Giugno. Da 2 anni siamo più soli: Sir Henry Cecil, quello che ha sellato più vincitori nel meeting reale con 75 rappresentanti, ci ha lasciato proprio due anni fa, di questi tempi. L’anno scorso si è consumato forse il momento più toccante e commovente dell’intero meeting, quando la Regina ha varcato il Golden Gate per la “Royal Procession”, e allo stesso tempo è stata ricordata la memoria di un grande uomo di sport che ha influenzato e fatto vibrare di gioia migliaia di appassionati. Giù il cappello! Verrà ricordato anche quest’anno.
 
 
 
IL PROGRAMMA: Da quel momento in poi, si comincia seguendo la scaletta. Sei corse ogni giorno, inizio alle 2,30 (ora locale) per finire alle 5,35 ora locale, naturalmente da noi un’ora più in avanti. Le condizioni atmosferiche al momento sono buone ed è previsto terreno buono per tutta la 5 giorni. Cosa offre Royal Ascot quest’anno? Il meglio del meglio, come al solito. 
Martedì 16 GIUGNO: Si apre con le Queen Anne Stakes G1, una delle corse più attese dell’intero meeting che si disputerà proprio come prima corsa della giornata. Si rivede in pistaSolow (Singspiel), il castrone grigio trasformato da quando gli è stata accorciata la distanza ed ha inanellato una serie di vittorie cominciate a Meydan con la vittoria nel Dubai Turf G1 e confermata nell’Ispahan G1. E’ lui il favorito della corsa, ma contro avrà Able Friend (Shamardal), in trasferta da Hong Kong, forte si una serie di prestazioni sopra le righe e portatore sano di fiducia incondizionata da parte di John Moore. E’ il cavallo più giocato di questa corsa negli ultimi giorni ed è al momento a 3/1. Come terzo cavallo, in una edizione un filo scarna, è Night Of Thunder (Dubawi), con il Godolphin che ha cominciato la stagione vincendo le Lockinge Stakes G1 di Newbury. 
 
I 3 ANNI: Subito fuochi d’artificio nelle St James’s Palace Stakes G1 dal respiro Classico. Il favoritissimo è Gleneagles (Galileo), vincitore di 2000 Ghinee inglesi ed irlandesi, sempre più giocato a 1,50, che contro avrà Make Believe (Makfi), vincitore delle Poule d’essai des Poulains davanti a quelNew Bay, poi trionfatore nel Prix du Jockey Club. 
GLI SPRINTER: I velocisti avranno a disposizione le King’s Stand Stakes G1 dove Sole Power (Kyllachy) cercherà di vincere per la terza volta questa corsa, in una prova che lancia molto spesso sorprese a grossa quota…
 
I DUE ANNI: I giovanissimi saranno protagonisti della seconda corsa della giornata, le Coventry Stakes G2 che negli ultimi anni ha lanciato cavalli come Three Valleys, Iceman, Red Clubs, Henrythenavigator, Art Connoisseur, Canford Cliffs, Strong Suit, Power, Dawn Approach, War Command e lo scorso anno, The Wow Signal. Quest’anno il favorito è Round Two (Teofilo) per Godolphin che avrà contro, in casa, il neo acquisto di Sheikh Mohammed Buratino (Exceed And Excel). Senza dimenticare, in giornata, le neo Ascot Stakes sui 4000 metri. 
Il mercoledì 17 GIUGNO ancora spettacolo: Su tutto ci sono le Prince Of Wales’s Stakes G1, la corsa più importante in termini di prestigio dell’interno meeting, una corsa vinta negli anni scorsi da cavalli come Rewilding, Byword, Manduro, Ouija Board, Rakti, Duke Of Marmalade, So You Think, Al Kazeem e lo scorso anno The Fugue. una corsa apertissima con Free Eagle (High Chaparral) opposto a Ectot, The Grey Gatsby, Western Hymn con Frankie Dettori a bordo per John Gosden e l’americano California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit), vincitore di 2 delle 3 prove della triple crown americana lo scorso anno, che avrà in sella William Buick. Dal Giappone prova ancora Spielberg (Deep Impact). Di contorno alla seconda giornata le Duke Of Cambridge G2 nelle quali, tra le più attese, si rivede Integral contro Euro Charline per Marco Botti. In giornata anche le Jersey Stakes G3 sui 1400 in pista dritta dove c’è un favorito chiaro come Ivawood (Zebedee), e base di tutti i punters della sessione, in accordo anche alle con le parole di Richard Hannon che ne ha parlato nei giorni scorsi. In programma in giornata anche le Queen Mary G2 per le 2 anni.
 
Giovedì 18 GIUGNO è il giorno della Regina, e non soltanto il Ladies Day. In programma la Gold Cup G1 come “main featuring”. Nelle Ribblesdale G2 c’è attesa per Pleascach (Teofilo), neo acquisto di Godolphin che ultimamente ha allargato i cordoni della borsa per comprare la vincitrice delle 1000 Ghinee irlandesi per Jim Bolger, contro Pamona (Duke Of Marmalade) per Luca Cumani e la Coolmore di Wachman Curvy (Galileo). Nella giornata anche le Norfolk Stakes G2 sui 1000 per i due anni dove l’hot favourite è King Of Rooks (Acclamation), allevato dalla famiglia Riccardi, allenato da Richard Hannon e acquistato qualche giorno fa dall’Al Shaqab Racing. In giornata anche le Tercentenary Stakes G3 sui 2000 metri con molti cavalli al via.
 
Venerdì 19 GIUGNO ancora i nostri in una giornata che prevede le Albany Stakes G2, le Coronation Stakes G1 apertissime con Found, Lucida, Ervedya, Arabian Queen tra le più attese, poi il Queen´s Vase Lr, mentre molta attesa desta le King Edward VII Stakes G2 con il supplementato di StouteStravagante (Rip Van Winkle), colori Coolmore. In programma anche la Commonwealth Cup G1 creata da poco con i 3 anni al via sui 1200 metri e favorito Limato (Tagula) con secondo cavallo più atteso Hootenanny (Quality Road) e la velocissima Tiggy Wiggy (Kodiac) dopo l’esperienza del miglio delle 1000 Ghinee. Attenzione ad Anthem Alexander e Home Of The Brave, pericolosi, con una quota fin troppo alta per Kool Kompany (Jeremy) a 15/1.
SABATO 20 GIUGNO è il giorno delle Chesham Stakes Lr, delle Hardwicke Stakes G2, nella quale ne sapremo di più in chiave King George del 25 Luglio con i cavalli più attesi che dovrà affrontare Dylan Mouth, e soprattutto delle Diamond Jubilee Stakes G1 per gli sprinter..
