Reparations is after a second successive Flemington victory in the Group Three Standish Handicap over six furlongs on Thursday, January 1.

The six-year-old Exceed And Excel gelding, trained by Lee and Anthony Freedman, was victorious over the course and distance last time out when taking the Listed MSS Security Sprint by just over a length on November 4.

He finished down the field in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap over seven furlongs at Eagle Farm on June 7 but registered another Listed victory in the seven-furlong Thoroughbred Club Cup at Caulfield on May 3.

Dwayne Dunn, who won on Reparations at Caulfield in May, takes the ride again.

Reparations, drawn in stall two, is set to carry top weight of 59kg.

Lee Freedman said: “The 59kg is the only concern for us and is going to make it very difficult for Reparations as he has not been a weight carrier in the past.

“However, the encouraging fact is that, on his only attempt down the straight, he was highly impressive so I am sure he is going to run extremely well.

“I certainly wouldn’t say he couldn’t win, but the weight disadvantage is not going to help.”

The other 10 starters in the Standish Handicap include Group Three winner Lord Of The Sky and recent Morphettville Listed scorer Whitlam.
