Moore salutes fantastic’ Snow Fairy
RYAN MOORE on Tuesday paid tribute to Snow Fairy after the supermare he shared five top-level wins with was retired.
The former champion jockey saluted the fighting qualities of the Cristina Patino-owned six-year-old, who aggravated an old injury on Tuesday morning, persuading trainer Ed Dunlop to call time on her sensational career, which yielded earnings of £3,911,804.

Moore built up an extraordinary relationship with Snow Fairy, finishing first in all six of the Group or Grade 1s they contested together, although the daughter of Intikhab was disqualified from the Prix Jean Romanet last year after testing positive for a banned substance.
The rider nominated theirHong Kong Cup success at Sha Tin in December 2010 as his favourite.

He said: “She had a lot of class, but she was really a fighter more than anything. She had a fantastic will to win and just wanted to please you.
“I would say of all my wins on her, my favourite was when she won in Hong Kong. She was very consistent and her record speaks for itself.”
Snow Fairy captured the hearts of racing fans worldwide by winning six top-level races in four different countries, with Moore on board for her first Group 1 success, the Investec Oaks in June 2010.
