‘She goes for the Guineas – and everything’s gone to plan so far’
These are hugely exciting times at Jessica Harrington’s Commonstown base.
New seasonal-best tallies have been set in each of the last four Flat campaigns, with the dual-purpose powerhouse edging ever closer to a first triple-digit return after sending out 87 winners last term (and 91 for the calendar year).
Classic dreams are well and truly alive with the beautifully bred Discoveries, who will bid to provide Harrington with a first British Classic in next month’s Qipco 1,000 Guineas.
She looks the ace three-year-old in the pack, while there is also a solid squad of older horses to fly the flag in premier handicaps, Listed and Group contests.
Throw in a string of 75 two-year-olds, many of whom are bred in the purple, and 2022 has the makings of a big year for a team going from strength to strength.

Admiralty Place
We’ll look towards some premier handicaps with him. I was delighted with his first start for us at the Curragh [when third] on only the third run of his career. I think he’ll be a nice horse going forward. I’m learning about him but I’d imagine he’ll be going seven furlongs. Bopedro
He was a bit of a revelation last year, winning the Irish Cambridgeshire before finishing third at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend. He might be a bit between a rock and a hard place because he’s rated 107. He’s not an overly big horse either, so we’ll just see how he goes. |
