THE COUNTDOWN TO THE GALWAY RACES HAS BEGUN

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO FROM TODAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE
In less than three weeks time, our highly-anticipated Summer Festival kicks off on Monday 26th July. Special thanks to todays press launch host George McDonagh and our guests Lisa O’Neill, Henry de Bromhead and Ado McGuinness. Click here for the full video.

As you will be aware, we have submitted plans for 5,000 spectators per day at our outdoor event, and are waiting for an imminent decision in relation to this. Should we get approval, an announcement of our ticketing policy will be released shortly. Thank you.

SUPPORTING OUR SILENT PARTNER, THE THOROUGHBRED HORSE
As part of the Summer Festival, we are delighted to announce our support of the Irish Horse Welfare Trust in the run up to, and during race week. The Irish Horse Welfare Trust is Irelands largest, longest running dedicated equine charity, providing specialist care for Thoroughbred horses. The Irish Horse Welfare Trust was set up in 1999 to re-school, re-habilitate and re-home Thoroughbred horses. Click here
THE PAT SMULLEN PERPETUAL TROPHY
Each year for the Summer Festival, we host the Leading Jockey and Leading Trainer Championships sponsored by the Rooney Family and Chanelle Medical respectively. This year, Galway Race Committee are proud to announce that in association with the Rooney Family, we will be unveiling a new Pat Smullen Perpetual Trophy for the winner of the Flat Jockey Championship in memory of Pat. Pat was synonymous with the Galway Festival through his partnership with Dermot Weld and a regular recipient of this prize. Click here
