La plus grande course de pouliches révèle l’élite de la nouvelle jeune génération de championnes sur la distance de 2 100 mètres et fêtera cette année sa 172ème édition.
Le Prix de Diane Longines est classé Groupe 1, le niveau d’excellence du programme du Galop et est réservé à la nouvelle génération de championnes lorsqu’elles sont âgées de 3 ans.
Révélatrice de talents, la pouliche gagnante de la course a toutes ses chances de prendre le départ du Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe qui se tient quelques mois plus tard à l’hippodrome ParisLongchamp.
Ce défi historique sera suivi dans près de 60 pays !
Depuis sa création, la notoriété en France et à l’international de cet événement n’a cessé de s’amplifier et il est l’un des plus attendus du calendrier du Galop.
Cette course est également célèbre pour son décor de rêve : la piste de Chantilly est bordée par les Grandes Ecuries des Princes de Condé et le Château de Chantilly.

L’irlande domine le Prix de Diane Longines 2020
Le point commun entre les trois premières du Prix de Diane Longines 2020 ? Elles sont toutes entraînées en Irlande ! Fancy Blue, la gagnante qui s’est montrée extrêmement dure, offre une première victoire classique au jeune Donnacha O’Brien, pas encore 22 ans et qui s’est installé comme entraîneur cette année, après avoir été jockey pour son père,
Aidan O’Brien, et la grande écurie irlandaise Coolmore.
Fancy Blue appartient justement aux associés de Coolmore, Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith et John Magnier. Elle restait sur une deuxième place dans les 1.000 Guinées irlandaises, où elle était battue par Peaceful, entraînée par Aidan O’Brien, et troisième ce dimanche. Alpine Star, la favorite associée à Stéphane Pasquier, a conservé la deuxième place après avoir mené. La meilleure française est Raabihah, entraînée à Deauville par Jean-Claude Rouget et qui se classe quatrième.

172nd edition: in 2021, the Prix de Diane Longines is celebrating its 172nd edition. The world’s greatest race for fillies is held in the historic setting of Chantilly, whose course sits beside the stunning Princes de Condé stables and the Château de Chantilly!
1 mile 2 ½ furlongs: the distance of the race run on the Chantilly course. The finish line is slightly uphill, which demonstrates the outstanding physical attributes of the fillies entered in this grand prix.
124 seconds: the record time (2’03’’77 to be precise), which is an average speed of 61km/hr and was set in 2013 by Trêve, trained at Chantilly by Christiane Head.
3: the age of all of the fillies running in the Prix de Diane Longines. They are the new generation of rising stars and only have one shot at being crowned queen of the Diane!
6 double champions: the number of winners of the Prix de Diane Longines who went on to win the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the world’s most important race for thoroughbreds: Pearl Cap (1931), Nikellora (1945), La Sorellina (1953), Allez France (1973), Zarkava (2008) and Trêve (2013), who actually won the Arc twice!
1974: the year that Highclere won the race. This filly belonged to Queen Elizabeth, who travelled to Chantilly to watch her filly in action.
7 French fillies: French-trained fillies tend to do well in the Prix de Diane Longines and have won 7 of the last 10 editions. The nationality of the winning horse is decided by the country in which it is trained.
1874 and 1875: in these two editions, two fillies were declared joint winners after passing the winning post at exactly the same time (dead heat). The owners decided to rerun the race to decide the final winner!
5,000 spectators: for this year’s Prix de Diane Longines event, Chantilly racecourse will only be able to welcome a maximum 5,000 spectators (please check the rules before you come). The event will therefore be adapted, but the vast lawns on the edge of the course will be open for the traditional chic picnic!

Il 10 giugno mattina , diverse candidate per il prossimo Prix de Diane si sono allenate all’ippodromo Princes de Condé. In ordine di apparizione in pista abbiamo visto: Natsukashi, puledra appartenente ad Antoine Griezmann: le portacolori dell’Aga Khan Dolia e Khalidiya, in successione anche la vincitrice del Premio Saint-Alary, Incarville, che ha messo piede sull’erba del Cantal, che sarà teatro delle Oaks di Francia il 20 giugno prossimo.
Tra queste femmine di rango si sono inseriti anche alcuni puledri, Fenelon, possibile candidato al Prix du Lys, e Mare Australis, vincitore dell’ultimo Prix Ganay. (fonte : Equidià)
