TEN SOVEREIGNS RETIRED TO COOLMORE
Ten Sovereigns (Ire) (No Nay NeverBSeeking Solace {GB}, by Exceed and Excel {Aus}),
…winner of the G1 Middle Park S. at two and the G1 July Cup this year at three, has been retired from racing and will stand alongside his sire at Coolmore next year. Ten Sovereigns was unbeaten in three runs at two, winning the G3 Round Tower S. a week after his Curragh debut and casting himself among the G1 2000 Guineas favourites with his Middle Park win. Trainer Aidan O=Brien switched the focus to sprinting after Ten Sovereigns failed to see out the mile of the Guineas, and the horse=steam wasrewarded with a 2 3/4-length score over Advertise (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) in the July Cup. Ten Sovereigns is the seventh successive horse in his direct male line to have won a Group 1 or Grade I race as a juvenile. Advertise Retired To National Stud

Three-time Group 1-winning sprinter Advertise (GB) (Showcasing {GB}-Furbelow {GB}, by Pivotal {GB}) has been retired from racing and will enter stud at the National Stud in Newmarket next year.
Bred by Cheveley Park Stud and raced by Phoenix Thoroughbred with trainer Martyn Meade, Advertise broke his maiden at first asking last May and was second to Calyx (GB) (Kingman {GB}) in the G2 Coventry S. four weeks later. He followed up with victories in the G2 July S. and G1 Phoenix S. and was second to Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the G1 Dewhurst S. to round out the year. Kept to sprint trips after a bid in the G1 2000 Guineas, Advertise capitalized with a win in the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot in race record time and, after finishing second in the G1 July Cup, won the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest over elders, becoming only the second 3-year-old of the past 18 years to do so. Advertise defeated 14 individual Group 1 winners through his career and is rated 126 by Timeform.
“Advertise was a joy to have in the yard,” said Martyn Meade. “To have a horse like him [with that] combination of speed, soundness and consistency is very rare. I very much look forward to seeing his progeny on the track in years to come and I hope they inherit some of his father’s star qualities.”
Amer Abdulaziz, chief executive officer of Phoenix Thoroughbred, added, “As a Group 1 winner at two and three, Advertise has given us some brilliant days. His win in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot this year was a particularly special and happy day. We are really excited to stand him as a stallion at the National Stud alongside Aclaim and we will be supporting his progeny in the sales ring.”

The 2020 European roster, 35 strong across the United Kingdom, Ireland and France, was announced by Darley on Tuesday, with champion and MG1SW Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) leading the new additions at £50,000. He is joined by G1 Investec Derby hero Masar (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) at £15,000, while the third new recruit is Kildangan Stud’s MG1SW Blue Point (Ire) (Shamardal) at €45,000.
Dalham stalwart Dubawi (Ire) remains at £250,000, while G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Golden Horn (GB)‘s fee is £40,000. Both Group 1 sires Iffraaj (GB) and New Approach (Ire) will command £30,000 in 2020.
In Ireland, pride of place goes to Shamardal, who has enjoyed an outstanding run with his juvenile colts at the Group 1 level this season, and he once again is set to cover at a private fee. Roster veterans Exceed And Excel (Aus) and Teofilo (Ire) are each offered at €40,000, while Night of Thunder (Ire), whose first 2-year-olds have been able representatives on the racecourse, has been relocated to Kildangan and sees his fee rise to €25,000.

We couldn’t do it without the breeders who invest so much time and skill in producing the horses who are at the heart of our great sport.
