Arabian Horse Stud Al Khalediah Poland

The decision to build an Arabian horse stud in Nowe Wrońska was made spontaneously. It was determined by an idyllic landscape of the Masovian countryside, a convenient location close to the country’s capital and easy accessibility in terms of transport. At the time no one knew that located in the same place before the war was the estate of the Jaworowski family. It was here in 1924 that Ignacy Jaworowski was born. He found his way to Michałów in 1953, after which he created the stud for the next 44 years, until 1997. We took this incredible coincidence as an additional good sign. Our stud, Al Khalediah Poland, was created as a branch of the legendary Saudi Arabian stud of the same name, managed by outstanding experts and enthusiasts of the Arabian horse. The first horses were flown in to the newly built comfortable stables in 2008. Today there are more than a hundred horses and new ones, bearing the famous Al Khalediah brand, keep arriving.

It is a huge opportunity for development for both the Polish branch of the stud, as well as the entire Polish breeding due to the addition of new bloodlines to the national genetic pool. In January of 2016 Al Khalediah Poland began selling its horses through auctions. It is also worth observing that the locating of the stud in Poland was definitely not coincidental, as the potential of the Polish breeding concept and the contribution of the state studs to the survival and perfecting of the Arabian horse breed are undeniable. Polish nobility showed interest in the Orient as early as the 16th century. This passion resulted in the import of Arabian horses from the Middle East, a business which grew to a larger scale in the 19th century. This process influenced the development of studs and enriched the art of breeding, which – apart from a break during the turmoil of war – blooms until this day.

The idea to create a European Arabian horse show that would implement a new quality was born years ago as a reference to the Saudi Arabian show organized by Polska AKF’s older sister – Al Khalediah Stud. The first edition of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival took place in 2014 and began as an ECAHO C-ranked show. From the very beginning the aim was to create a recognizable show brand, built upon organization of the highest quality, transparent judging and unique prizes.

The quality of the competition and high standards of the Festival in Nowe Wrońska have been appreciated internationally, which is why in 2018 it has received an A-rank ECAHO affiliation for the show, as the first and so far only ones in Poland and this part of Europe.

Their progeny likewise have been successful across the globe with wins as far afield as the USA, Sweden, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Our racing interests are represented by a group of 60 Purebred Arabian Racehorses which race in the UK, Europe and the UAE.
