·      Interview: Darren Bunyan

Irish trainer Darren Bunyan saddles recent Group 3 winner HIT THE BID in opening night’s 1000m Handicap against a tough field that includes fellow 2018 Carnival winners Dutch Masterpiece and Faatinah. The current ‘buzz horse’ of the always-exciting turf sprint division, he is expected to run well throughout the DWC Carnival.

·      Interview: Satish Seemar

Trainer Satish Seemar, a veteran of the UAE racing scene and one of the top Carnival conditioners, saddles a pair of his top runners over the first two Carnival nights (Jan. 3 & 10). Hard-luck sprinter RAVEN’S CORNER is considered an apex contender in the Group 3, $200,000 Dubawi Stakes on opening night, while Group 1-winning stable star NORTH AMERICA headlines the Group 2, $350,000 Al Maktoum Challenge Round 1 next week (Jan. 10). Seemar also reflects on recently retired Dubai legend and three-time Dubawi winner REYNALDOTHEWIZARD, while touching on other serious Carnival horses, including SECRET AMBITION and U.S. imports BEHAVIORAL BIAS and IRISH FREEDOM.
