+SAND FOX (FR) (c, 3, Redoute’s Choice {Aus}–Sandy Girl {Fr}, by Footstepsinthesand {GB}) found a comfortable rhythm in second after the initial strides of this first go. Looming large on the front end with 500 metres remaining, the 27-10 chalk was shaken up passing the two pole and punched out in the closing stages to safely hold the late thrust of Ice Breeze (GB) (Nayef) by a half length. The bay, who made the top ten at Arqana’s 2015 August yearling sale when acquired by connections for €660,000, is the second scorer out of a winning daughter of Listed Kronimus-Rennen victress and G3 Prix des Reservoirs runner-up Soignee (Ger) (Dashing Blade {GB}). That second dam’s five winners are headed by US champion grass mare and French highweight Stacelita (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), a six-time winner at the highest level, who produced last term’s G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies victress and Japanese champion juvenile filly Soul Stirring (Jpn) (Frankel {GB}). Sand Fox has a year-younger sibling, also by Redoute’s Choice (Aus), who sold for €200,000 at last year’s Arqana August sale. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €14,100.
