The highlight of day One at the Ebor Meeting is of course the International Stakes, won in 2009 by the magnificent Sea The Stars and Rip Van Winkle for Aidan O’Brien in 2010. The day however starts off with the Symphony Group Stakes over five furlongs at 2.00
As well as the International Stakes, the other feature race on the card is the exciting Great Voltigeur Stakes which is the third race on the card. The Great Voltigeur is often a key trial for the St Leger at Doncaster next month and we are sure to see a number of classic contenders test their claims on the Knavesmire.

Light rain at York but no change to going
A FULL day of light rain could be on the cards at York on the eve of the Ebor festival which begins on Wednesday.
The ground remains good to firm, good in places after only light rain, totalling 2.5mm, had fallen up to 10am on Tuesday.
Anthea Morshead, assistant clerk of the course at York, said: “We haven’t had anything heavy but there is the possibility of light rain for much of the day.
“We’ve got a front of weather from the east coast and it has just pushed over the top of us – further to the east it’s much heavier rain and further west it’s not raining at all.
“It’s in the lap of the gods whether it moves on or stays with us the rest of the day; it depends which weather forecast you look at.”
If there is to be an imminent going change it will occur mid-afternoon after Morshead has walked the course again.
Outlining the forecast for the rest of the four-day meeting, Morshead added: “Tomorrow is looking dry with sunny intervals and temperatures of 20C and although there might be some showers Wednesday night, it should clear Thursday morning to leave a dry day. Friday and Saturday are looking like a mixture of sunshine and showers.”
