Qui alle DBS Premier Yearling Sales lo trovi ed oltretutto, probabilmente a buon prezzo” questo è la frase di esordio di due riflessioni amichevoli fatte con Gianluca Di Castelnuovo della New Racing Factory, uomo DBS in Italia. Ci illustra orgoglioso lo spirito di queste aste, sottolineando che nel catalogo non trovi i “Galileo”, ma se ti piace il miglio classico hai trovato la giusta asta a cui rivolgerti. Cresciute nel tempo in modo chiaramente tangibile, quest’anno sia le Premier sia le Silver (con date ravvicinate), sono un appuntamento imperdibile per la qualità degli stalloni presenti, per la cresciuta solidità delle madri dei lotti e per la giusta miscela di prodotti commerciali presenti in catalogo, ma anche di pezzi affascinanti.
Il posizionamento dell’ asta, ormai evidente nel panorama generale, prevede date che anticipano i tempi, cavalli morfologicamente interessanti e sempre più competitivi con una evidente propensione rivolta alla qualità ed alla attitudine da 6f ad 8f e soprattutto la voglia dei molti consignors di essere presenti a questo appuntamento. Passato il momento difficile di mercato, i soggetti dichiarati presenti nel ring di aggiudicazione quest’anno sono 511. Chi più ne ha più ne metta. Quando il marketing funziona ed è ben razionalizzato i risultati si vedono, basta guardare nei valori delle Statistiche che abbiamo riportato qui di seguito, ma non è solo questo, è anche la voglia di dare un imprinting certo ad un modo di concepire la proposta, considerando le esigenze non solo del ring ma anche della pista.

Premier Catalogue to Offer Siblings to 2YO Stars
A record set of figures from 2014 and a huge season on the track will see consignors send some of their best to the DBS Premier Yearling Sales this year (25 & 26 August), resulting in a catalogue that’s fitting of a sale that continues to forge an international reputation for quality, performing horses.
The world’s leading sale for 2014 Cartier Champions also celebrated two Group 1 winning two-year-olds last season including one who went on to be crowned the World’s Joint Top 2YO Filly. These are just a few of the esteemed awards that also include Ireland’s reigning Horse of the Year. This year has seen another hugely talented filly emerge from the Sale, the unbeaten Illuminate (pictured), who has won at both Royal Ascot and the July Cup meetings this season and whose half-sister is one of the highlights of the 511 entries.
Mature, early running types are a feature of the Premier Yearling Sales and the catalogue features a number of well-bred yearlings that are related to current and recent 2YO stars. These include:
- 372, a Dark Angel own-brother to this season’s Gr.2 Superlative Stakes winner BIRCHWOOD.
- 478, an especially attractive Dragon Pulse half-sister to 2015’s Royal Ascot Gr.3 Albany Stakes and Gr.2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes winner ILLUMINATE.
- 428, a Rock of Gibraltar half-sister to last season’s Gr.1 winning Champion 2YO and now sire THE WOW SIGNAL.
- 116, a Zebedee half-brother to the dual Gr.2 winning and Gr.1 placed 2YO and this season’s Gr.3 Craven Stakes winner KOOL KOMPANY.
- 169, a Compton Place half-brother to this months’ Listed Rose Bowl Stakes winner TASLEET.
- 346, a Paco Boy own-brother to the Gr.2 winning 2YO BEACON.
- 130, a Born To Sea colt out of a half-sister to the Gr.1 winning 2YO HAYIL and from the family of this season’s Gr.2 July Stakes winning 2YO SHALAA.
- 228, a three-parts brother to the Gr.1 winning Champion 2YO HEARTS ON FIRE and 77, a close relation to last season’s Gr.2 winning Champion 2YO HERO LOOK.
Other highlights include and are certainly not limited to:
- 120, a colt by Dutch Art out of the Gr.3 winning mare AGE OF CHIVALRY.
- 117, an Exchange Rate filly out of a close relation to the multiple Gr.1 winning Champion Sprinter SOLE POWER & 285, a Dandy Man own-sister to the Gr.2 placed Parbold and a half-sister to the Stakes winner MAJESTIC MYLES.
- 179, a Fastnet Rock half-sister to the Gr.2 winner ENDOWING.
- 206, a colt by Sepoy out of the dual Gr.3 winning mare CHEYENNE STAR from the family of the multiple Gr.1 winner GORDON LORD BYRON and 460, a Sepoy half-brother to the Champion Sprinter DEACON BLUES.
- 238, a Sir Prancealot half-brother to the Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed EXTORTIONIST.
- 311, a Pivotal filly from the family of Champion Sprinters G FORCE and LETHAL FORCE and the Champion 2YO FLOTILLA.
- 324, a Nathaniel half-sister to the Gr.3 winner DARK RECKONING and 500, a Nathaniel half- brother to the Royal Ascot Gr.3 Jersey Stakes winner and Gr.1 Irish Guineas placed GALE FORCE TEN, now standing at the Irish National Stud.
- 326, a Lawman colt out of the Gr.2 winning mare INFAMOUS ANGEL and 469, a Mayson half-brother to Gr.2 winners PENITENT and SUPPLICANT.
- 377, a Harbour Watch half-sister to the Gr.2 winner LOOK BUSY and 83, a colt by Kodiac out of the Gr.2 winner LOOK BUSY.
- 397, a Choisir three-parts brother to the four-time Gr.1 winner and now sire OLYMPIC GLORY and 101, a Lawman colt out of a half-sister to the Gr.1 winner and sire POWER.
- 440, an Acclamation own-brother to the Gr.3 winner ALSINDI out of the Stakes winning mare NEEDLES AND PINS.
Other sires to feature include Canford Cliffs and Zoffany whose 2YOs are currently running hot, as well as Dream Ahead, Equiano, Helmet, High Chaparral, Holy Roman Emperor, Iffraaj, Kyllachy, Lope de Vega, Makfi, Mastercraftsman, Medicean, Rip Van Winkle, Showcasing etc. and young sires including Bated Breath, Casamento, Delegator, Excelebration, Foxwedge, Poet’s Voice, Pour Moi etc.
